Ouncebound collects only what is needed to run accounts, collection features, analytics, and advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Information you provide

When you create an account, we store your email address, username, and a salted one-way password hash. We never store your readable password. If you use collection features, we store favorites, discoveries, XP, stack quantities, optional purchase prices and dates, and notes you choose to enter. If you enable watchlist emails, we store your price targets and catalog-email choices. If you join the Silver Brief, we store your email address, confirmation status, signup source, and unsubscribe preference; newsletter membership does not require an account. Catalog correction reports and record requests store the details you submit and, when sent while signed in, the reporting account email privately for abuse prevention and follow-up review.

Information created by the service

We store essential session tokens, account-security rate limits, timestamps, and short-lived password-reset records. Privacy-conscious first-party analytics store the page path, event type, timestamp, and referring hostname without an advertising identifier or collection details. Catalog searches also store the normalized search term and number of matching records so we can identify missing pieces; search terms are retained for up to 180 days and are not tied to an account. Recently viewed archive records are stored only in your browser so you can resume browsing, and you can clear that history directly from the archive. Operational infrastructure may process basic request information such as IP address, browser details, and error logs to deliver and protect the service.

How information is used

We use account data to sign you in, synchronize your private collection, calculate progress, deliver alerts you request, prevent abuse, review catalog corrections and record requests, answer support requests, and improve reliability. We do not use stack value, purchase notes, favorites, or watchlist targets to determine lending, insurance, employment, or other eligibility.

Advertising and cookies

Ouncebound uses Google AdSense to display and measure advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, device information, and activity on public site pages to deliver, personalize, limit, and measure ads where permitted. Ouncebound does not send private stack contents, purchase notes, favorites, watchlist targets, passwords, or email addresses to AdSense for ad targeting. Available privacy and consent controls are shown based on location and applicable law.

Service providers

Hosting and database providers process data to operate Ouncebound. A transactional email provider processes email addresses when sending account messages, requested price alerts, or optional catalog updates. The silver spot-price service receives a server request from Ouncebound; it does not receive your email, collection data, or alert targets. Google AdSense processes advertising and measurement data as described above.

Retention and control

Account, collection, and alert-preference data remain until you change the setting or delete the account. Newsletter subscriptions remain active until you use the unsubscribe link included in newsletter email; unsubscribed addresses are retained on a suppression list so they are not accidentally re-added without a new request. Sessions normally expire after 30 days and password-reset links after one hour. Signed-in users can download a JSON copy of their data or permanently delete the account from Profile. Account deletion removes alert preferences and disconnects the account email from any retained correction report or record request. Backups and security logs may persist for a limited period before normal deletion cycles complete.

Children and changes

Ouncebound is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as analytics, advertising, or social features are introduced; material changes will be reflected here before those features launch.
