This 5 oz record represents the 5 oz Silver Bar format. Asahi Holdings completed its acquisition of Johnson Matthey’s gold and silver refining businesses in the United States and Canada in March 2015. The transaction gave the new Asahi Refining operation established facilities and precious-metals expertise in North America.
Asahi’s silver bars use restrained oval branding across minted and cast formats, keeping weight and fineness prominent. The pieces are modern products, but their production network connects them directly to an earlier chapter of North American refinery history.
